The Garden that features in
Tender and
The Kitchen Diaries is a small town garden, perhaps slightly longer and wider than is usual, and has six ‘kitchen’ beds devoted to herbs, fruit and vegetables. I garden organically and without the use of peat. Fruit, flowers and vegetables live happily side by side, attracting an extraordinary array of birds, butterflies and wildlife to this small city space with its dusky-leaved cabbages, violet carrots, eight varieties of potato, speckled climbing beans, pumpkins and gnarled and exquisitely flavoured heritage tomatoes.
